چکیده

It has been observed that linear, Gaussian scale-space, and nonlinear, morphological erosion and dilation scale-spaces generated by a quadratic structuring function have a lot in common. Indeed, far-reaching analogies have been reported, which seems to suggest the existence of an underlying isomorphism. However, an actual mapping appears to be missing. In the present work a one-parameter isomorphism is constructed in closed-form, which encompasses linear and both types of morphological scale-spaces as (non-uniform) limiting cases. Apart from establishing such a formal connection, the unfolding of the family provides a means to transfer known results from one domain to the other. Moreover, for any fixed and non-degenerate parameter value one obtains a novel type of “pseudo-linear” multiscale representation that is, in a precise way, “in-between” the familiar ones, and may be of interest in its own right.

Truncated Linear Minimax Estimator of a Power of the Scale Parameter in a Lower- Bounded Parameter Space

Minimax estimation problems with restricted parameter space reached increasing interest within the last two decades Some authors derived minimax and admissible estimators of bounded parameters under squared error loss and scale invariant squared error loss In some truncated estimation problems the most natural estimator to be considered is the truncated version of a classic...

Nonlinear Numerical Integration Scheme in Strain Space Plasticity

Strains are applied to the integration procedure in nonlinear increments todecrease the errors arising from the linearization of plastic equations. Two deformationvectors are used to achieve this. The first vector is based on the deformations obtained bythe first iteration of the equilibrium step, and the second is acquired from the sum of thesucceeding iterations. By applying these vectors and...

Dynamic scale-space paradigms versus mathematical morphology?

The geometric and statistical physical concepts of dynamic scale-space paradigms are presented and juxtaposed to those of mathematical morphology. It turns out that the dynamic paradigms can be applied to, substantiate and even generalise the morphological techniques and paradigms. In particular the importance of the dynamic scale-space concepts in granulometry by means of size densities or sta...

Families of Generalised Morphological Scale Spaces

Morphological and linear scale spaces are well-established instruments in image analysis. They display interesting analogies which make a deeper insight into their mutual relation desirable. A contribution to the understanding of this relation is presented here. We embed morphological dilation and erosion scale spaces with paraboloid structure functions into families of scale spaces which are f...

A Compromise Decision-making Model for Multi-objective Large-scale Programming Problems with a Block Angular Structure under Uncertainty

This paper proposes a compromise model, based on the technique for order preference through similarity ideal solution (TOPSIS) methodology, to solve the multi-objective large-scale linear programming (MOLSLP) problems with block angular structure involving fuzzy parameters. The problem involves fuzzy parameters in the objective functions and constraints. This compromise programming method is ba...
